The small truck owner is the unsung hero of India's economy. He plays a critical role in maintaining supply chains and sustaining the economy. Ironically, the vehicle he uses - the truck, in many cases, is more than 15 years old. Though a newer truck will help him deliver better, he can't upgrade as he has no access to institutional credit.

At Shriram, we have been working hard to correct this. For instance, we have helped replace nearly 2 million trucks by providing affordable acquisition credit (about Rs. 28,000 crores) to the truck owners. We are also launching 3 new initiatives like the AUTOMALL, ONESTOP and NEWLOOK.

But all this is not enough. The modernization of our national truck fleet can happen only with a massive mobilization of public opinion. Each one of us can play a part in this. So, if you too believe that a younger fleet is in national interest, BLOW THE HORN!
